WHO ARE WE
Reaching an audience of different ages and socio cultural backgrounds, Terceira Pessoa builds a project to bring the community closer to the cultural territories of their surroundings and of other locations in the country, promoting exchanges between local heritage and contemporary languages.
bringing the audience closer to contemporary artistic languages; production of artistic objects with the company’s signature; dissemination of Castelo Branco as the central place of artistic production and community projects at the national and international level.
In 2012, it developed the KURT COBAIN project, which included a group of youth from the city of Castelo Branco, from ages 13 to 18, in creating a performance and a documentary.
In 2013, in the HEY YOU project, it involved a group of 70 people of all ages in creating the performance HEY YOU: SORRY FOR THE INCONVENIENCE, WE ARE TRYING TO CHANGE THE WORLD.
In 2014, with the REGISTRATION project, it created a performance in three parts, having as its starting point the book “Portugal, Hoje: o medo de existir” (“Portugal, Today: the fear of existing”), by José Gil. In the same year it premiered the creation Thinking Hands or Thinking Manual, co-created with Pé de Pano – Projetos Culturais.
In 2015 they created the performance FIRST CHILDHOOD: FABLES with Maria Rita, a nine-year-old involved in creative processes with Terceira Pessoa since she was 6. The performance opened in Castelo Branco and, in 2015, appears in the Cycle “Newborns” of D. Maria II National Teathre. The same year, they also developed the multidisciplinary project PHILOSOPHY OF LANDSCAPE.
In 2016 they premiered in London, England, and in Portugal, the performance THE OLD IMAGE OF BEING LOVED, presented in several theaters in festivals and with strong impact in the experimentation of the viewer’s participation and theater performances.
In 2017, they premiered the performance HERE IS ALWAYS ANOTHER PLACE and in 2018 the international collaboration KIF-KIF. Beyond creation projects, Terceira Pessoa also develops the PUBLIC SERVICE, a series of conversations around contemporary art, the THERE’S A PARTY IN THE COUNTRYSIDE and the ARTISTIC VILLAGES project, project of developing villages through artistic practices.
