As part of the Ulysses project, the collective Terceira Pessoa challenged the artist Bernardo Chatillon to think about the 4th chapter of James Joyce's Ulysses, resulting in the performance Calypso or The Experience of the Possible. This work suggests a poetic and introspective show, which unfolds from a peculiar perspective, a "blind spot" that distances itself from conventional understanding and approaches sensory experience.
CALIPSO OR THE EXPERIENCE OF THE POSSIBLE [TEATRO – DANÇA] _ a Third Person production
[ESTREIA] July 27th | 9:30pm Cine-Teatro Avenida, Castelo Branco
SYNOPSIS
As part of the Ulysses project, the collective Terceira Pessoa challenged the artist Bernardo Chatillon to think about the 4th chapter of James Joyce’s Ulysses, resulting in the performance Calypso or The Experience of the Possible. This work suggests a poetic and introspective show, which unfolds from a peculiar perspective, a “blind spot” that distances itself from conventional understanding and approaches sensory experience. As a written metaphor, the play slips through a crack, reveals itself in the observation of biographical fragments, lost on a forgotten beach, illustrating a state between dream and nightmare.
