FREE SPIRITS
ESPÍRITOS LIVRES is an artistic intervention project developed with the inmate population at Guarda Prison. Through the interaction of different artistic disciplines such as theater, music, dance and performance, the inmates had the opportunity to develop personal skills, with a view to individual and professional promotion, and reinforcing the pedagogical and artistic offer in a systematized, diversified and continuous way. With a weekly program of activities, it was possible to work on exercises in creation and artistic and performative expression, through which all the participants became creators and actors in the show "Para que lado fica o amanhã?" (Which way is tomorrow?). This work was presented at the end of the process to the prison population and the general public in order to provide direct contact with the community.

COMMUNITY PROJECTS

ESPÍRITOS LIVRES is an artistic intervention project developed with the inmate population at Guarda Prison. Through the interaction of different artistic disciplines such as theater, music, dance and performance, the inmates had the opportunity to develop personal skills, with a view to individual and professional promotion, and reinforcing the pedagogical and artistic offer in a systematized, diversified and continuous way.

With a weekly program of activities, it was possible to work on creative exercises and artistic and performative expression, through which all the participants became creators and actors in the show “Which way is tomorrow?”. This work was presented at the end of the process to the prison population and the general public in order to provide direct contact with the community.

The creative and methodological process was documented from the outset, resulting in a documentary film. At the same time, an evaluation and monitoring process was carried out by the Piaget Institute in Viseu, which resulted in an analysis of the impact that a project of this nature can have on the social reintegration of the participating group.

The conclusion of the Free Spirits project took place with the conference “Unleashing Thought”, promoted by Guarda Prison and Terceira Pessoa, as a moment of sharing, reflection and debate around the results achieved by this project.
