PERFORMING ARTS

We’re not sure for how long, but we had the opportunity to work with a group of adults from the Castelo Branco area.

With them we discovered that we too are now leaving the world to reach the body, whereas before we used to go the other way around. And that all this is a long love story that has only just begun.

Sitting here with you is in itself an act of inscription. I look at you.
You look at me. I wait and you wait with me. Sometimes our gazes meet and it seems as if the world has ceased to exist to make way for something else we haven’t yet known. And all of this is a long love story that has only just begun. The story we are building now, in this moment, when I sit with you, when I wait with you, when we finally look at each other. And being here, now, is all that matters right now.

And in the time of waiting that we share, we begin to ask ourselves: who is she, after all? What does she have to tell us that we haven’t heard yet? That we don’t know yet? How can her words, her body, meet my words and my body? (pause) This is where theater begins.

When we start asking ourselves questions, like at the beginning, like in the days when stones had a history and every day was a new beginning. Perhaps this is the face of desire. Our face here and now. Our face everywhere and nowhere. It gets lost. It drains away. Only to be filled with intensity later. Like the light that slowly fades to make way for the dark. It’s in the dark that light can become light again. It’s in the dark that light can become light again. It’s in the dark that light can become light again. It’s in the dark that light can become light again.
